Kind of different to what you're asking OP. But for a long time I used to think that legendary pokemon were one of a kind. Like in the games where you could only catch one of them. Then the episode aired showing a baby Lugia and I was really confused.

This reminds me of one from when I was a kid. I thought you couldn't use Goldeen unless you were on a sea route because in the anime everytime Misty tried to use it on land it flopped around like it was dying.

None of these pokemon are SE against Seviper and neither is Seviper against them

A 'Which pokemon resists Seviper' scenario doesn't work either because both Ghost and Poison are valid answers and there can only be one

when the only ghost types in gen 1 were part poison and ghost was a pretty garbage type back then.

Gen 1 was glitched too so that psychic was immune to Ghost. Not that you had any good Ghost-type moves to use.

It's not getting stuff wrong, it's adapting it to a more realistic and non turn-based format.

You can't apply "power" to moves outside of a turn-based RPG, accuracy also isn't a thing since everything can be dodged, and levels also don't exist.
