the nude misty and swastikas on cards were known among kids and fans but not the general adult 90s mom police population (think kyles mom in the south park movie). i never heard any controversy from the card art or any of the comics or anime that were censored (besides the seizure episode that never even aired outside japan) again it was known in kid circles back then but not to the adults trying to find a reason to hate pokemon, surprisingly these things werent noticed and gambling/seizures/devil worship were the "controversy". I'm honestly SHOCKED the fact its basically cock fighting was never an issue, i think peta addressed that but MUCH later not during the initial 90s craze the issues with pokemon were all clearly made up by people so out of the loop with what pokemon was they were just making up issues instead of digging for real ones.
anyway the naked misty card was a real prize, glad it was common just had to find somewhere that sold japanese packs.
