It's not your fault you've never used one.
It's super rare in GS and HGSS (1% outside of Swarm), postgame in E, DP and BW and lategame in the Alola games.
The only game it (Snubbull) is easily obtainable in is XY - a 10% encounter on Route 10. (It's pretty similar to Houndour in this way, though Houndour is version exclusive). Unlike Houndour, Snubbull/Granbull doesn't get a usable STAB move until quite late in the game, making it pretty unrewarding to use.
Competitively, it was always outclassed by Ursaring offensively and Miltank as a tanky cleric. Intimidate was nice, but it wasn't until it got the Fairy typing that it actually got a niche. Not much of a niche, but something.
Overall I like it. There aren't many physical Fairy types and for a pretty low BST (450), it hits like a truck. Its movepool has improved over the generations and Play Rough/Earthquake/Close Combat (an egg move, unfortunately) is pretty unique coverage.
I think it could do with a buff. I think Strong Jaw and a Fairy Fang signature move would be perfect (Rattled and Quick Feet are currently doing nothing for it), or a simple stat buff to make it a little more viable.
My current Granbull set, in case you give a damn:
Granbull @ Iapapa Berry
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 180 Atk / 4 Def / 76 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Close Combat
- Thunder Wave
- Protect
He's not good enough to be playing against the big boys but with this he's bulky enough to survive LO Tapu Koko's Thunderbolt and can 2HKO Snorlax with Close Combat. T-Wave is mostly filler, Ice Punch or even Snarl can be run in its place.
