Mudkip. Wattson is a pain in the ass to beat normally but Marshtomp is practically a "skip boss" button. Great HM slave as well.

I like all three but probably treecko just because it isn't broken in regular playthroughs. Torchic and Mudkip just shit on everything the second they get their second type.

But my favorite has to go to Sceptile. Followed by Swampert, then Blaziken.

I usually go with either Treecko or Torchic but I’ve played Ruby and Emerald dozens of times and I’ve used all three on different runs. And in Omega Ruby I used Treecko and Torchic. Can’t really decide. Gen 1, 3, and 4 are the only generations where I like all three starters

Used to be Blaziken as a kid, but I switched over to Swampert in recent years. Never cared for Sceptile at all. In fact, Treecko is one of the few starters that I've never once used.
