And even with all that the only difficult parts are usually whichever gym beats the type I chose and the elite 4 (often because it has at least one type that beats the type I chose). You can make the game harder for yourself sure, but it still doesn't become a hard game. People who complain without even trying to self-impose some challenge should still give it a shot, but they really do need to add some sort of way to adjust the difficulty for people who want to really optimize during the main story.

Yeah, I didn't use any OP Pokemon in my XY playthrough and it was one of the easiest Pokemon experiences I've ever encountered. And that's with EXP share turned off. I will give it to SM though, the game was a lot harder and I had trouble on a few fights, but still nothing terrible. That was also with exp share off.

I dont understand, a hard mode would take like, a week to make at worst and it would solve one of the BIG major complaints older fans have with recent games while at the same time not hurt the main game at all. Why are there people who dont want to see other people happy?

Actually, a lot of these people feel oppressed and emasculated when they pick Easy difficulty instead of Normal or Hard. That's why a lot of them have been trying to get developers to remove difficulty levels or at least make Hard difficulty easy.
