It is a bad typing, almost everything can OHKO it, I tried using it, you have to play smart when using this Pokemon. I swapped it out for my Silvally with Steel Memory and had Primarina learn Ice Beam.

Fire Type or Fighting Type comes in switch to a better typing

Ice-type's only practical use is raising one specifically to take down a Dragon-type that would otherwise give you trouble, and it only works if they're bulky, ie raising Glaceon specifically to OHKO Cynthia's Garchomp in Platinum

love the design fucking hate the ice type, rocks, steel, fire, ground, fighting, 4 of those moves are extremely wide spread among high attacking pokemon and even then, ice types have shit for defense and are slow making them even more likely to be OTK'd, I swear man, between Ice and Grass it makes you wonder if they knowingly made those types just for easy wins.

Mamoswine is good, though; it has a solid offensive typing, Ice/Ground isn't completely terrible defensively speaking, it has Thick Fat to remove a weakness and add a resistance, and its stats are geared toward offense with an okayish 80 Speed.

If more Ice-types were built like Mamoswine and Weavile instead of Avalugg or Beartic, people wouldn't complain as much.
