>>38066897It's society. We've advanced to a point where being a kid is now basically a thing you are until your mid 20's. Not just mentally, but in how you're treated where at one point if you got to wait until 15/16 you were incredibly lucky.
People get used to it and it trickles down.
They used to do these shows knowing full well that adults will also end up watching them with their kids, but now people are too afraid of that.
Ironically so, since overprotectiveness is the most crippling of all ways you could possibly treat a person. It causes them to never grow up. That's why Gen Z and Alpha, especially those in families of even moderate means, are so fucked.
They've never had to deal with the real world or anything even slightly adult in nature. You can't just pull yourself out of that so they end up looking to government to be their new parents and demand everything be kitted - or should I say kidded - up for them.
Anything popular in western circles is now getting fucked in this manner because of it, Pokémon included. Actually, especially Pokémon since it's getting more and more popular in the west compared to even Europe, let alone Asia.
