Let's say that all future remakes will be in the LGPE style. What pair of Pokemon would you want to have as the starters for each region? They have to be:
- representative or standout of their region
- able to be clothed relatively easily
- normally able to evolve (for the sake of the rival), but won't as a starter
- not one of the regular starter trio
- appealing to the masses

I'll start with Johto: Marill and Snubbull. Both are swarm Pokemon in Gen II, both are cute, both evolve, and both were "preview" Pokemon for Johto.
