And even if they "go all out" on gen 9, it will likely still be YEARS too late by that point. Even if there's a new Nintendo system by then, they'll just be at the 2010 standard of HD by the year 2022. What's stopping them from going all out right now? They own the most profitable franchise of all time, and there are plenty of games on the Switch that look much more beautiful than Sword/Shield in every way.
