Think whatever you want, but the purple filter is actually nice for a region like this, they did a good job, the problem indeed isn't the filter, but those disgusting mountain/hills textures and models.

Personally I prefer the top. On the bottom the Pokemon look too different from the rest of the background which creates a weird contrast I don't like. And in general, the coloration on the bottom is weird, the hills/trees in the background are too purple-ish.
