>>38089645>I never called you a genwunner, way to read too much into my comment.Maybe not. It's pretty easy to assume in a thread like this.
>The same formula is used over and over. Eight gyms, a bad team, legendary catch, elite four, battle building, etc. The trials were just gyms with another name. So the new Pokémon are one (if not THE) of the main attractions of the new games. They're not really for me especially in the post-gen 6 bobblehead age, but sure, I completely see that part of it. What always confused me is why instead of demanding an actually good game that gives you the best of the old and the new, people just demand the old be erased so they can get more of the new in what is otherwise the same mediocre formulaic rehash, while the rest of us end up with less of what actually makes the games worth playing. It just doesn't fix what's wrong with the games that actually puts us in this situation to begin with, not a lot of other series seem to have fanbases so divided and hateful of past games and characters, probably because unlike Pokémon they actually evolve and give you something else to look forward to than the next shovel load of regional rodents to stuff your box full of by the third gym.
With all of that said, I'm not at all in favor of the heavy bias towards older generations in more recent games, all I want is the option to have what I already like alongside new things I may like in the future, rather than having it forced down my throat. If I want to try something different, I'll try something different.
Since I've really only picked the games back up in the last two years or so, it's all new to me anyway.>>38089680I don't really care what the "point" was, all I saw was a dex full of stuff I had no interest in playing with and a region that gave me no alternatives. Whether it was all part of some grand artistic vision, reboot or whatever else is irrelevant.
