However, he's a bit off.
They wouldn't show us JUST the starter stuff. If they did it, they'd show us the starter stuff followed by a glimpse of the box legendaries.
OP is basing off of Gen 7 which had separate announcement and starter trailers. Things this time are looking more like Gen 6 where we started with glimpses of the world and starters in the announcement.
The first new video that gen was one month after the announcement and was just a video of Sylveon standing around and doing an attack animation with no text or sound. The description was like "A new eeveelution revealed. But what type could it be...?". They didn't reveal it's name or fairy type till much later.
They did the same thing with Megas, showing a video of Mega Mewtwo Y a month after that with text saying "A new pokemon revealed that resembles the legendary pokemon Mewtwo! What could their connection be...?"
