All this talk of armored evolutions has reminded me how much I often seem to conflict with a lot of people on the issue of megas. I saw so many people begging for megas during the gen 7 news cycle... I only really actively like the designs of around 10 of the 48, and they really were not used for what their purpose (imo) should have been: Weak Pokemon who cannot receive normal evolution because it'd be unfitting or because it's a third stager. Granted: A decent chunk of megas did do that, like Beedrill, Kangaskhan, and Sableye, among others. But it really feels like they could have done more. Their designs probably don't take as much effort as a new Pokemon, but I really prefer regional forms conceptually to megas if we're talking about variations on an existing design. There's much more potential there.
