I think Volcanion is pretty cool, but having limited access and nothing in the way of lore is pretty sad. Not to mention the XY movie, which did so poorly alongside Diancie and Hoopa that they had to reinvent their strategy...

Heatran is one of the worst-looking legendaries in the series. It might be the only Pokémon that straight-up looks worse than Volcanion.

This things makes some sense.

Personally I love it, but my tastes seem to fall in the ugly category. It has a certain weird appeal. Like the following

Cofagrigus
Sigilyph
Batiodon
Chesnaught
Exploud
Shiftry
Hariyama
Hoopa Unbound
Garbodor
Barbacle

These guys are often considered ugly, but they're definitely my taste.

Hit or miss. I've heard all of these to be considered ugly before. At least more often than others. Which ones do you think aren't ugly?

Doesn't matter to me because I love all of those guys. Chesnaught is my absolute favorite and the only thing able to dethrone Sandslash from my number one.

Of the most you listed, the only ones I'd really call ugly are Bastidoon, Exploud, and Barbaracle, and of those three, I can only really claim to not like Bastiodon.

Anyway. Volcanion would honestly make much more sense if it's legs were so odd looking. Might dig to see if anything inspired them. But just because its weird doesn't make it bad.
