I spent my entire life percieving the frontal standing trainer sprite from gold,silver and crystal as having big lips but in fact that black line is like a shadow made by his head while the other red dots that are the same color as his mouth (just a single red pixel) are actually part of his t shirt. The same doesn't happen with his other sprites but I had never thought about it.
