Grass has too many weaknesses to be really useful. They should get rid of the Ice and either Flying or Bug weaknesses.

It really fucking wasn't. You're thinking of Primarina. Even before HAs both Primarina and Incineroar made it to a top 30 list on Battle Spot with Decidueye nowhere to be seen.

The issue is poor type mixing and stat alignment. Grass by itself is still weaker than it should be.

Other than the first two gens, I've been Grass all the way. Chespin was my initial pick for Gen 6 and I didn't care for Greninja until Protean and then Ash Greninja came out. And this gen I may very well go with Scorbunny.
