Hilda, Rosa, Chicken-chan are all unavailable in the games if you pick the male mc (1-time appearances don't really count e.g. Unova's case where you meet Nate/Rosa only a single time when 1st encountering the battle subway leaders)
Misty replaced any female protag in the anime because none existed until Crystal, and even then, opposite-sex mc isn't in the game (also we got Casey, who is rather close to Kris design-wise)
