Hello. Firstly I apologise. English is not my first language but I will try. I'm not sure how accurate my information is because it isn't something I learnt directly. I was told from my source. There is also not much info on the new pokemon because they worked on plot but not pokedex.

The new games will be much more like a direct sequel to gen 6. You start off as new characters but certain stories from gen 6 continue. During game you will keep meeting the ghost lady who feels she is closer to the one she is looking for and also a pair of archaeologists, researching the war with Kalos and the two heroes that calmed a fierce beast that was born from the war with wolf pokemon.

You meet two professors. One gives you your pokemon and the second is visiting Galar to research Meltan further. It reacts strangely to Galar minerals. During game the Meltan is stolen from professor and you must get it back from evil team but they are able to take a sample from Meltan first. The team also later steals most special minerals from mine but you fight and get one. You give to the professor so they can continue research and find out what evil team wants. You eventually fight the evil team but are interrupted by the archaeologists. They are in charge and are working with AZ trying to stop the calamity with Meltan's corrupted form happening again.

You return to stop Proffesor's research too late and his Meltan has corrupted. The ghost girl also arrives, she has been looking for AZ. They are the two heroes and together are able to guide you to the wolf pokemon. After you battle you gain sword/shield form that is able to fight corrupted Meltan.
