Venusaur is a legendaries killer in this format.
It counters Tapus, Xerneas, Kyogre, and Groudon in addition to being a wall against Ludicolo and Amoongus.

Chlorophyll Venusaur + Groudon is a nightmare for unprepared teams.

You and I both know that he actually hates pachirisu now, and we both know exactly why he used it. He wasn't karenfagging, he was just galaxybraining. 9 times out of 10 in vgc following the already existing rules over innovating is the actual way to go outside of fucking around with your evs. The meta almost always settles down after a couple of months and no innovations are made.

I guess it's not efficient enough, i never really understood why some pokemon always centralized the meta, but it's probably different from other competitive games since there are no move/stats/abilities updates until a new generation is released, seems like a very stall and monotonous meta.

115 atk and 95/90 bulk is considered good with right spread and execution, so usually he can fit with 155-170 atk and bulk into hp/sp.def
with groudon he can sweep under trick room
intimidate is obvious
fake out, snatch, u turn, darkest lariat can kill lunala with 155atk ect.
thunder punch with the terrain can destroy kyogre and rain teams
basically have shit ton of gimmicks to pull out and is universal per team

Honestly, I wish there were MORE type relations to statuses.
Making Electrics immune to Thunder Wave (if not paralyze on the whole), Fire immune to burns, Psychics immune to confusion.... idr if Ices are already immune to freeze or not... And who cares about Icefags. Even the worst Karenfag is better.

TTar usage only skyrocketed after gen 5 came out. It was always a top mon, but Scizor was the usage king for most of it along with heatran. TTar became a thing once all the main dragons were banned and stall became the best playstyle. Anytime stall is the top style, trapping mons become 10x as good.

Arceus becomes significantly more useful when you are allowed to carry multiple rather than choose only 1 per team. There are plenty of mons that Arceus outclasses, but not by a wide margin. So you use the suboptimal mon + another arceus variant instead in Ubers. But in AG you can use Arceus -Water + Arceus Normal + Arceus Fairy, etc. no problem.

Yeah, supportceus is pretty fucking good, just not at the level where you would want to give up access to E Killer in ubers.
I should dive back into the AG ladder some time. Probably look more into better ways to counter Xerneas and Primal Kyogre.

Electric types are immune to paralysis as of gen 6. Fire and Ice have always been immune to their elements. Grass types also have specific immunity to sleep powder, stun spore, and poison powder.

The years with the most competitors at regional level events actually had the most difficult qualification methods and therefore the least numbers of competitors at WCS (gens 4 and 5) Number of people at/qualified for worlds does not have that much to do with the number of people who play the circuit. Keep in mind worlds is an invite only event and the means of qualification change each year.

Steel types are immune to the Poison status effect as well as Poison itself, so the type of those moves is irrelevant.
Ground types are not immune to Paralysis, but are immune to Thunder Wave.
