He stepped back as he knew Masuda was better at making games than he was and he wanted to make sure Game Freak was run right. He's worked as executive producer and personally approves all scripts during game production, as well as keping abreast of everything else the House is doing. Doubtful. He probably just did everything he envisioned as far as pokemon goes with gen 1 and 2. But if I were him I would at least want to keep the games to a better quality. He doesnt seem like the type to be in it for the cash
