Do you fight wild pokemon in FRLG? I used to have this habit as a kid of killing every wild pokemon I encountered unless I wanted to capture it. Now I'm replaying the game and trainer battles are much more fun if you run away from every wild pokemon, so you don't get overleveled anymore. Heck my three mains are already almost at level 40 and I'm just at Saffron City. Didn't fight a wild Pokemon since the very first route.
