I'm not the POKEMON IS DARK AF guy that OP is, but I do love when we see the predator/prey aspect of Pokemon wildlife, so I'm glad they're still doing it.

Predation is really emphasized in the Alola Pokedex because one of Ohmori's goals was to portray Pokemon as living creatures. This is also why a few SOS mons (Sableye and Mareanie) attack their caller.
I expect it to be just as prominent in Galar.
