>>38140630I think being associated with power creep and seeing them so often in multiplayer both in VGC and Smogon has soured people's opinions, even more than pokemon like Talonflame that were everywhere in one generation then dropped out once new pokemon came around or game mechanics changed.
Personally, I like how Tornadus and Thundurus are straight up malevolent entities that spread storms on a whim. It makes them stand out more from the "imposing pokemon with a duty/control over X" you often see that leaves legendaries/mythicals impartial. Landorus is okay by me because it does Ground/Flying different than Gligar and Incarnate's one of the few ground types that can go special with Earth Power instead of just using Earthquake like almost every other ground type. Therian forms were definitely a needed improvement design-wise, though. Still, they're about average for me, but not as offensive as they often seem to be for others. They're definitely a reason why I would rather have new pokemon be weaker than older ones instead of constantly trying to top themselves like how some Ultra Beasts do minmaxing or the Tapus have instant terain that there's no reliable way to get rid of without another Tapu.
