By your projection of what others think, Sword and Shield wouldn't even be possible because they start with S from the get-go, like Silver and Soul Silver. As far as second lettering goes, I just use S/S but if it's such a central point of conflict I don't see why people can't just wait for the Japanese lettering comes out. It was through them that USUM finally dominated over USM last time.
