Allowed you to catch 1 pokemon and you could search for that specific pokemon as much as you wanted, it wasn't 100% effective, kinda like how the vs seeker from frlg, sometimes it worked, sometimes it said try again. But it allowed you to chain pokemon, and the higher the kill count, the higher the chances to get egg moves, hidden abilities, and can get a minimum 3 max ivs guarenteed.

Lets you get certain egg moves and abilities on Pokémon. Like head smash Aron is a pain to breed in game, but with dex nav you can easily catch a head smash rock head Aron by just killing a few.

This. Sneaking/walking is the situational action for getting through grass without repels, lining up with doors and thin paths, or around spinning trainers without attracting attention. In the older games I’m surprised holding B wasn’t the walk option after getting the running shoes. It was pretty obnoxious that the fastest movement in Alola was holding B on the ride Tauros, a straight downgrade to the bikes of over 20 years.

Dpad + B with an on/off toggle is the only right way to do movement in games. It always has been and always will be. Analogue works for camera but it's shit for everything else.
