That's LITERALLY every Gen 3 Dragon in Hoenn save for one. How could you not still be mad, what a disgrace. If they didn't pull that nonsense on the Latis it would be far less insulting.

There are probably more fan made megas for Flygon than any other pokemon. Just use one of those.
It's not even like they cared if the design was good. Salamence, the Latis and Rayquayza all look like shit.

I'd say just make Flygon a good fast mixed attacker similar to Infernape by raising it's Speed to around 120 and both attacks to 105. This will give it a niche and a reason to use it over Garchomp

Mega Evolution is a shit gimic and I hope Game Freak gets rid of it for Gen 8

You can tell they didn't try for some but felt obligated to put them out to keep some semblance of fairness. They gave Charizard TWO with a natural next step and an actual dragon to satisfy charizard != dragon people but then Venusaur just gets a hat and Blastoise gets arm cannons.
I had high hopes for Blastoise, like they could've given its turrets more mobility to spin around and propel itself like a jetpack. And they could give it more Speed because of that.

Why? I think Mega evolution is good, it makes some weaker Pokemon actually usable or even strong while sacrificing an item as to not be too overpowered.

mega evolution is cool when it can make shit tier Pokemon like Mawile relevant. It's such a shame that most of the already decent/good Pokemon were the ones that mostly got megas. Then most of the time the total shit tier Pokemon that get Megas get a really shitty one best example being Glalie.

I dont really get why Glalies mega is so rarely used, it has pretty good potential with Refrigerate and Lando-T and others that are weak to Ice are in OU.
Now that Im looking through its moves it seems that it doesnt really have that much coverage which I guess is why it isnt used much.

Besides the fact that Megas were gen 6s gimmick they were able to make weak Pokemon very usable in some cases rather than giving a new ability and a few points in stats that probably wouldnt help at all. Like another anon mentioned Mawile is a great example of this, unless you think Mega Mawile should be default Mawile stat wise, in which case thats really fucking stupid.

Because, there are better Megas than it and better offensive Ice Types as well, coupled with having a bad defensive type, average speed, taking a Mega slot and a shitty movepool, put it together with M-Audino on the low end of Megas.

There's no purpose to not giving a mega to just about every Pokemon. It's a meaningless statement. Flygon didn't get a mega because they couldn't think of a good design for it, but it's not entitled to one nor is any other Pokemon.

I'm not a Flygonfag but I am a Heracrossfag and I can tell you it's much preferable to have no mega than one with a horrible design.

Mega Gallade is literally one of the best mega designs though. It's a massive improvement over base Gallade and strikes a perfect balance between being distinct enough from the base form without looking like a different Pokemon entirely.

Let us count the ways:
>Mono-Ice-type
Ice having no resistances other than to itself, while being weak to Incognito Ingots, Steel (Bullet Punch, and now everywhere due to Fairy), Fighting, and Fire.
>Entry hazards
Glalie is forced to take every single one of them, and again is weak to Pernicious Pebbles.
>Subpar defenses
80/80/80 is bad enough; the fact it has no resistances to fall back on just makes it worse.
>Bad stats
Glalie is really held back by its base form's stats in general, actually. 80 across the board didn't give GameFreak much to work with, and 100 Speed is only "average."
>No moves
You already covered this. It's not exactly swimming in options.
>No niche
What exactly can Mega Glalie do? Well, it can set Spikes, but so can other Pokemon that are able to actually hold items. It can use an Ice-type Explosion, but this knocks it out and wastes the Mega Evolution. It can do damage, but its movepool is pathetic and its strongest non-Explosion move causes recoil, while its second strongest (Return) often isn't going to be enough. It can run Freeze-Dry, but most targets are either already hit hard enough by Double-Edge, aren't hit hard enough by Freeze-Dry regardless, or can endure the hit and either set up in Mega Glalie's face or one-shot it. There's no real reason to use Mega Glalie when almost almost every other Mega has a niche or can do a better job, even without counting the undeserved Megas given to Pokemon like Garchomp and Salamence.

They weren't the top of OU or anything but they were still solid enough Pokemon. It's certainly nothing comparable to the likes of Beedrill or Pidgeot which were literally unusable and outclassed by tons of other Pokemon in every single way.
