You need a fully evolved Starter Pokemon like Infernape, take it to a NPC like an ancient mystic who judges your friendship with Infernape, if it is at the right level then it gets the ability.
When Bonded Blaze is activated the Pokemon gets a slight form change like Ash's Infernape as a result.
So we don't get a Pokemon that takes on the likeness of its trainer but a Pokemon that shows off how powerful it can be once it has bonded with its trainer.
They get a cutscreen like Mega Evolution, it activates when the abilities are normally activate, then as it ends the Pokemon makes a powerful looking motion with its element radiating from it.
