I agree that the HGSS level curve sucks but if you can't beat Claire's gym at level 34 you're just bad at the game. Maybe stop avoiding the junior trainers or something/

I've faced every trainer in the game and I beat Claire. My team has 3 Pokemon at 35 and the rest in their 20s because wild Pokemon are just weak for no reason. I can beat anything using the 35s which funnels all the experience into them leaving the rest of the team underleveled which just isn't fun. I want to have a diverse team of mons I like, not blow through the game with the same 3. Leveling up the others requires switch-baiting against underleveled wild Pokemon because there just aren't enough trainers in the game and rematches are based on random phone calls.

Team composition is more important than level. If you "picked the wrong Pokemon" you might have to go back and train other needed Pokemon.

I agree that anyone should be able to beat her, but she is a tough fight. Its not fair to act like she isn't. Gyarados honestly flinch locked me on more than 1 attempt. Kingdra lowers your accuracy with Smokescreen and has one weakness in Dragon which I don't think you can even have yet.

She's a cakewalk if you chose Feraligator or use the Red Gyarados and leveled an Ampharos and nothing else. Other than that, she's challenging.
