Hot opinion thread regarding the new games.
I want random encounters.
I want a tight knit, mostly linear experience. Fuck the open world meme.
I want tournament style gyms, I want to actually feel like I've truly won something that is difficult to accomplish with each and every gym rather than just walking into the gym, beating a few trainers who are standing around then walking up to the gym leader and beating him.
I want boss pokemon to return in some way in conjuncture with gyms still being a thing. I enjoyed totems a lot, I just wish we got totems as well as gyms and hopefully this game will do something like that.
I want starters that aren't shit. Look, I know, everybody wants this, but I haven't liked a single final stage evo starter since gen 4s Torterra. I have consistently been boxing my starters from then on because I just can't stand how they look these days. I doubt it's going to happen even this time but please for the love of fuck just give me 3 solid starters again which hasn't happened since gen 2.
I do not want armoured evolutions.
I do not want too much emphasis to be placed on sports. I'm from the UK and I know a lot of people over here live and breath football and would go ape shit if we had some sort of shitty fucking fifa minigame in Pokemon but I hope it's kept to a minimum. In all honesty this is my biggest fear about the new game, you guys can cry about the graphics, you can cry about old pokemon showing up again, those things don't bother me in the slightest, I just don't want my Pokemon adventure to be fucking dominated by sports.
