There'll probably be a few that I like, and a few that I dislike, like always.
Likely slanted more towards dislike, since I have a lot of memories of the older pokemon and have grown fond of their designs, but I'd say my hopes are reasonably high for a few good 'mons to ask to come with me on my next adventure

Gen 7 had a lot of waifumons but otherwise designs were good, only offender for me was gen 5 with a lot of generic mons. Honestly, quality of games may be dropping but monsters are fine. It's the only thing that keeps me around. Gen 8 starters look good (to me at least)

they're looking pretty good so far honestly, the starters are a lot better than the last 2 gens
I just hope the evolutions are monsterlike instead of the absolute garbage gens 6 and 7 gave us barring greninja

Gen 7’s designs were much better than Gen 6

The problem with Gen 6 is that a lot of Mega’s did a little too much, others were absolutely perfect like Mega Mawile but then you have Mega Sharpedo, who isn’t bad, just a little too much

Alola forms were better executed and the region’s Pokémon were great.

Also 3D models themselves are also a factor
Malamar is a nice ass design who gets butchered on the 3D Model where as Wishywashy looks better in his 3D Model compared to the artwork
