Armoured Evolution ideas:
>Is not just a replacement for Mega Evolutions. Armoured Pokémon are just different ways to play with the same Pokémon and is treated totally seperate. Armoured Evolutions were specifically made as a feature that represented Old and New Pokémon without outshining their original forms and upsetting the balance of the main story.
>Does not make Pokemon overall stronger - it makes their stats different. It can make attack or speed better by augmenting body parts (Armoured Flygon has a second pair of insect wings), or can make HP or defense stronger by process of being armour. However, armour can also hinder stats. For example, by hindering a Pokémon’s natural defense mechanism, being too heavy, making attacking cumbersome, etc.
>As well as stats, Armour can influence types. And it's not just slapping Steel on everything - the material the armour is forged from conducts ‘Infinity Energy’ from the armour into the Pokémon. Like Mega Evolution, not all Armoured Pokémon change type. Again, to use Armoured Flygon as an example - it's Bug/Dragon, as its armour is made out of discarded exoskeletons.
>Armour is equipped from the same key item for Pokémon it can be used on. However each armour is Pokémon specific and you must battle the Professor with the Pokémon in question for her to draw up the schematics for the design. Some are automatically unlocked as the game progresses and some are event exclusives. The Pokémon holds its own armour as its item, and all of the different Armour sets share a pocket in the bag.
