Whatever happened to the 'fix the meta' threads where people would buff and/or nerf moves/types/abilities and whatnot?
Was Gen 7's meta really that cancer that people just didn't have it in them to do it anymore or is it just that /vp/ just got dumber or some shit?

Everything you hear about "the meta" on /vp/ is second hand memes from some dude that may or may not have actually played "the meta" 8 months ago for like 3 matches.
Nevermind the fact that no one seemingly knows what "the meta" even is. Is it OU? VGC? BSS? Little Cup? Fuck if I know. It's just "the meta".
Your post is a perfect example.
You're asking why we don't discuss "the meta" yet you act as if you've never even played it this gen, let alone ever.

Alright fine my question fucking sucks because 'meta' is a vague term that can refer to multiple things (though people usually use it to refer to OU and VGC and they specify when it's a meta of another format but fuck me for assuming that right) but what 'the meta' is wasn't supposed to be the main focus of the question. It's was more about the thread about asking why the threads about buffing and nerfing various aspects of the game, usually with a singles focused mindset but sometimes with doubles in mind as well, has died off. I remember those threads were a staple here back in Gen 6, hence why I'm asking why they died of in Gen 7.
Does that make sense?

Really? I thought I saw these threads appear on here regularly.
But those are about specific pokemon fixes.

We still have buff threads, but they've developed into buffing specific Pokemon rather than fixing any meta.

I guess you got a point there, though I was more referring to the more generalized buff threads that aren't limited to specific Pokemon.
