Honestly... idk. I really don’t know. I’m the type of trans whose dysphoria spurred their transition. A lot of people argue that you don’t need dysphoria to be trans and others are super against that.
I personally don’t know, because I’ve only ever been trans because of dysphoria.
I do think that there is an argument of
Gender as expression
vs
Gender as necessity
For me, I saw gender as necessity because if I didn’t transition I would’ve lived my life never, ever finding comfort in my own skin.
But others see transitioning as... kind of a way to get in touch with an inner fashion sense, almost. They express themselves better when presenting as a certain gender.
But to my main point, I’d say it’s up to you to figure out where you think you might align in that regard.
I’d say dysphoria is almost always a sign of SOMETHING, but it’s up to you to figure out what that something is.
I know ppl who
Crossdress
Just have a fetish for it (tg transformation)
Or who actually end up transitioning because of that disconnect they feel.
It’s all up to you. Once again, cliche, but don’t ever let anyone define you other than you. Not trans people, not cis people. Only you.
I hope you figure things out, anon. You might be an Egg or you might just be questioning and decide, “eh. Not for me.”
All on you. And that’s part of what’s scary, but it’s also part of what’s nice about gender.
