>>38178991That's a big question when we don't have a lot of info about the game yet.
That said, probably would bring the artstyle in-line with X-Y, mostly because it feels like Galar's going to be a slightly more 'intense' region compared to Alola. Also if the Kalos region connection comes true.
Sort of relatedly, I'd probably bring back Serana. Honestly, I'm more an 'ash/misty' guy, but, again, the Kalos connection potential. Not sure if she'd be a main companion or a recurring one.
I'd like Ash's experience and time studying at a freaking school in a Alola to pay off, so, he gets to be more experienced here, have a stronger team he brings in with some reunions of his best from previous regions, at the expense of him facing some tough as hell fights.
Shield-chan and Sword-kun are definite travel companions.
Sword-kun, for lack of a better term, would basically be Newt Scamander from Fantastic Beasts. A lot of knowledge, not a strong battler, but clever and often has lateral solutions to a problem though lacks confidence.
Shield-chan is actually Ash's rival for the region but sticks by to 'keep an eye on him' and would, playing to memes, be kind of surley and belligerent. Providing plenty of unnecessary conflict and comedy.
a bit of the arc will be Ash realizing both lack the confidence to actually split off from Ash. for years they've clung to one another and now to him. So instead of participating in the league himself, he pushes them into battling to help Shield realize she doesn't need to just pick on weak trainers and stay in her comfort zone and for Sword-kun to realize he doesn't need to be physically powerful to be a strong trainer. And in a sense, this is where Ash sort of acts a mentor.Possibly end the series (if I were allowed to) with Ash deciding with so much growth under him now, he is going back to Kanto and trying the Indigo League once more.
