We've all accepted and gotten used to the fact that pretty much anyone can shit out a convincing fake in a day or so, and so anything and everything is met with skepticism. The fact that the SM starter concepts were leaked and immediately met with doubt and suspicion really put the nail in the coffin: nobody believes anything any more, so it's not as worth the effort.
