Well, yeah of course it's useless. It's like the recap at the start of shounens.
Useless, but nice for remembering what happened.
Reason I made this thread was because I just started up an old save to start playing Pokemon and couldn't remember the last thing I did.
Then the recap popped up and I thought 'Man, what a great feature. Wonder why they didn't bring it back?'

Now is that with the real time clocks actually being on the system they could implement this again but only show it if you haven't played in a certain amount of days. Shame they would never do that

They could also set it up so that if you haven't played in a few days, you get a greyscale version of the most recent cutscene, but allow you to skip it. That would make it so you didn't get lost as to where you were in the story mode, and would allow you to rewatch the cutscene for dialogue telling you where to go next if needed.

Still, that's probably way less necessary in the more recent games where things are much more linear and the rotom dex constantly points you towards the next story flag.
