It's equally surprising and depressing to me there hasn't been Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing style Pokemon game

A sidescrolling beatemup fighter ala Capcom's D&D, DragonsCrown, Streets of Rage, or Golden Axe. Turn moves into combos, equip 4 combos at a time, and shuffle around stuff in between stages. Gain Exp and evolve as normal.

so would there be no battling in pokemon: ranch story or would it be like rune factory but with pokemon turn based battles? either way I think it would be neat living in a comfy pokevillage and marrying a nice pokegirl

I've been toying with the concept of a Rune Factory-like Pokemon game for ages. I have a majority of the characters and world designed already, but I'm probably never going to start assembling the assets in an engine because it'll be too much work that I can't get paid for.
I really wish there were more comfy games that explore the experience of living with Pokemon better than the main series does. An official life-sim of any sort with a Pokemon skin would be massively popular.
