dexnav should be a series staple for sure. i dont expect following though since the games are in 3d now and gamefreak would have to add a ton of new models into the game so it would probably make some memory and possibly performance issues with the 3ds.

The models are already there, they made them for gen VII and never fucking used them. Switch can probably render the battle models on the overworld just fine, anyways. Gamefreak has no excuse for not reintroducing following Pokemon.

You might as well call dexnav and following Pokémon gimmicks if all you want to do is point and say REEE GIMMICK at anything you don’t like

Dexnav’s only purpose was to help with hoenn’s garbage variety of Pokémon by helping you find the best Pokémon each route

It’s not really needed if newer gens have much better and more varied pokemon

The trailer showed the MC sneaking so I think dexnav is coming back in some form.
I will also be surprised if following Pokemon isn't in because we already know they can do it on a much shittier engine on the same hardware. They may have just turned it off for the trailer so they can reveal it later.
