the only "trio" outline they've given us is "cool, goofy sidekick type and den mother" with Snivy/Tepig/Oshawott respectively
it's not that difficult an idea to apply to the other gens

Kinda leaning Scorbunny but as always I'll wait until I see final stages before making a decision. I find that's especially important nowadays, you really have no idea what direction GF is going to take a starter. If I went with my by-far-preferred first stager in gen 7 (Litten) I would've had the (IMO obviously, ur allowed to like it) most hideous and disappointing final stage starter ever created.

I was also disappointed that some pretty promising looking starters evolved into a bunch of people in fursuits. Decidueye is the most passable but I'd still never use it. If Gen 8 does this shit again, they're going in the box.

I don't think there is one gen of starters, beside the first one, where my favorite first stage is the same as my favorite final evo.
For now it's Sobble but we'll see how it goes.
