Cutscenes aren't the problem, they just need some competent writers.
Explorers of Sky was 90% cutscenes and everyone loved it. But GF can't write interesting characters or plotlines for shit.

Have any of you ever been genuinely invested in the plot or character of a mainline Pokemon game?
Closest I can think of is the Spear Pillar segment of Platinum and MAYBE the end of BW?

What would you call them, if we take that the action cutscenes are cutscenes but at the same time the standard dialog is the dialogue exchanges, the dialogue cutscenes are somewhere in between, could just distinguish them that way I suppose.
