Alright kiddos, J.J.Nintendo here.

We are going to design a region and pokedex, I'll shoot out the themes and typing and you let will help me fill a regional dex.

First things first which starters should we include in region more or less based on a northern icy region.

Smart kid. If we offered promotions in this buisness you might just get one. Alright a Grass/Electric two stage moss thing.

Now we have planned a small route connecting the exit of the cave to the first town/gym. We'll still have snow on the ground and well offer the old rod in town with some ice fishing holes.

We need some other early route pokemon and a thing to fish up.

Do we keep the ice gym idea, leader uses the snowman idea that you'll meet later and the spider.

Fire for the first gym is a bad idea because it screws over people who picked the grass starter but lets people who picked water glide. Ice has this problem too to an extent, both force the player into using the Minx or the Bear.

We were thinking of using Inuit folklore and gods as the legendary pokemon which some tribes made it to Greenland as well so there are routes in both regions.

But yes let's get back to early route stuff. Besides the added fire pokemon on route 3 it'll dip to the warmest* part of the region and the route will have a small town before route 4 curving back towards harsh climate and the second gym.

We want the small town to offer small benifiet, not unlike a gym but like a trJner school sport of idea. And some small wooded area. We need three designs, preferably another flying type and a fairy type. And another pokemon with low availability.

Rock/Electric Spinosaurus whose "sail" generates electricity.

What about a termal waters town? Canada doesn't have a desert, but descend from tall mountain snow area to volcanic zone can be something, birds live in cliffs right? Fairy's on the other hand can be more trouble some, maybe make them the gnome and a cinder based fairy from the volcano that it's the next route.
Small town can have it's research lab to study rocks and the place is also where you can revive fossils. Hell, even introduce the eco terrorist evil team if we can make an event.

For the forested route we will add a dark/Flying lion. Moving on to route 4.

Route 4 will split into two areas one will house the hot spring town with the fire gym which will be a dead end.

The other route needs cut to continue and goes further north.

So besides the monkey and capybara what other pokemon should we add, we'd like it to quad resist ice.

Alright I've got a few ideas for the boiler pokemon.

1. Box turtle. It's shell is a giant metal square with steam pouring out of it.
2. Some kind of semi-aquatic mammal like an otter. The boilers are in its forearms/lower legs.
3. A dolphin with the boilers across its fins. Steam is pouring out of its blowhole.

Their types would be Electric, Fire, Ghost, and Dark. And maybe you could actually meet them outside the league and they'd play an active role in the story.

The Electric one is the one you come across the most and he takes the most active role in helping you out.

The Ghost one is his spy of sorts, getting behing enemy lines and doing the dirty work.

The Fire one could be an unwilling participant in the evil team's plan, and one of the major plot points is you helping her break free from their grasp.

The Dark one would be thebleast active one, and maybe the only one you don't see outside of the league. He spends all his time there waiting for the moment when he can become useful, only for that time to never come.

Moving on second gym will definitely be Fire, get an egg for a babymon like in prior gens.

Harsher climate route 5 connects to route 4 focusing on Dark, ground and poison types that hide in snow and tree lines.

Trickster and roguish concepts.

We'd like 3 lines, two three stages and 1 two stager.

At first, it just looks like a plant covering a tree, but on further inspection it's actually an animal that pretends to be a plant and grabs whatever comes close enough. Poison/Dark.

Both start of Bug/Poison. The dung Beetle evolves into a Bug/Rock.in its final stage to survive against its Hornet enemy.

Alright here's one. It's a Ground type sloth that sits really, REALLY still for really long periods of time. It moves so slow, in fact, that crystal deposits/small terrariums build up on its back. Could pick up either a Rock or Grass secondary typing depending on which one you go with.

Yeah that works.

To differentiate it a little more from Burmy, maybe give it a signature attack where its type changes depending on the secondary type it has. Maybe it sheds off all the buildup on its back, losing the type, but dealing tons of damage and increasing its speed a bunch.

With the lizard concept secured we move onto Route 6. Route 6 will be a long route and only the first third of the route will be traversable as there is a blizzard going on, a nice hiker with a dog sled will be willing to go west with you to the third gym town instead. you can come back later after a few badges to go into the frozen wastes which will offer tougher pokemon and lead to the 6th+ gyms.

Some weaker versions of the pokemon found later are here, we will take designs based on bigger bulkier threatening pokemon mostly.

Looking for four designs of any typing but fairy, psychic, grass, or water.

Need two two stages and a three stage.

Alright I've had this idea on my backburner for a while.

At first it's a wolf with claws made of gemstones. As it evolves the gemstones take over more of its body until its 3rd stage (after 2 evolutions) where its head, shoulders, hands, and feet are completely encased in purple crystal.

Rock type. Give it a signature special rock move, a decent special movepool, and make it one of the first fully fledged Rock-type special sweepers.

A spider only somewhat hatched out of its egg. Very weak, almost comparable to Feebas.

When it evolves it breaks out of its egg and becomes a hulking arachnid monster. Basically Bug-type Gyarados. Would make the evolution Bug/Dark, but it seems like we're overflowing with Dark types at this point.

A weak Dragon that, later down the line, you get the choice of evolving into three different things:

-A fast, physical attacker with low defenses (Dragon/Dark)

Now moving on to the west where we get to the third gym town. Gym leader is missing and the Evil team has something to do with it. Nearby fishery is under trouble with the team trying to drill too many ice holes and ruin the local ecosystem. Gym leader went to help stop it.

Route 10 will be just to the west of the town and is actually made of snow, and wooden support piers incased over the fishing river. Many places to fish and you get the Good Rod from the leader here after dealing with the evil team. Makes a joke about you still needing to earn the badge though.

We need three shallow water fish pokemon for the good rod and 2 predatory pokemon living in the grass.

Yeah obvious one is usually best, and at this point you'll have seen many water types and the leader will have some options.

WATER GYM it is.

Once you beat the leader you gain access to the tunnel North that leads towards the next gym town. Tunnel is long and is filled with trainers like a mini victory road.

Route will be underground and have some spooky pokemon here, including the Terracotta ghost.

We need two other ghost two stage pokemon,
something bat like, and something steel.

The first psuedo's basic stage will be available in it's depths as a 1% it fully evolves into an Electric/Ground bear Nanook.

I've got an idea for two two-stage Ghost pokemon.

One is based off of a wolf. It's a dead predator come back to life to continue its hunt. Its second stage levitates and goes Ghost/Dark.

The second is a maggot. It's the corpse of prey com back to life to take revenge on its predators. It evolves into a flying scarab with spooky spectral wings. Both stages are Bug/Ghost.

Expanding on this idea:

The Psychic/Fighting line are goats.

The Fairy/Flying line are stereotypical aliens like pic related. They don't gain the Flying type until stage 3, where the alien sprouts giant butterfly wings colored black and dotted with little lights that look like stars.

We need more three-stagers, so how about an Electric/Steel line? It starts off as a pirahna, evolves into a barracuda, then evolves again into a shark. All three are covered in metal and look semi-robotic and their fins are yellow and pulsate with electricity. Would make a good ace for the inevitable electric type gym leader.

Since the early regional bird is a two-stager, let's get at least one flying-type three stager in there somewhere.

Canada (a northern icy region) has the Canada Grey Jay as their national bird. It's simple and is easy to make into a pokemon. Normal/Flying or Steel/Flying. Put it later in the game than the already-in-place blue jay.

Calico Cats are known for being especially aggressive towards each other compared to other cats. Maybe the first stage could just be a cutesy Fairy type catmon, then the second stage comes in and it's an angry Fairy/Fighting type covered in scars.

Now the 5th gym is up next and houses the ice gym leader, no tricks or events just smash into their gym and deal with hail and ice abuse.

Now progressing forward will be difficult as you`ll have to deal with villains plot. To be able to confront them you`ll need both badge 6&7 and can get them in any order. First one is near the 5th gym and the 7th badge is near the starting town.

To pass straight through the frozen wastes is dangerous but it`s the fastest and most linear path. Going through the wastes will encounter a vision quest that unlocks the roaming trio.

Electric Puffin? Could be a split Evo depending on the time of day, electric/water (based off of diving penguins) during the day and electric/flying(based off of the aurora) during the night. Electric-type. Starts off as a small croccodillian pup, then evolves differently depending on what moves you teach it.

If it levels up knowing more physicsl then special moves it gets bulkier and goes Electric/Steel.

If it knows more speciall then physical moves it goes into a sleeker design. Don't quite know the secondary typing yet. I was thinking psychic but that doesn't really fit here. Gotta be a mostly special-focused type tho.

Electric gym will be for double battles, but the guy is kind of a tool, he keeps trying to get into the E4 but can't since they won't let him use double battles.

He uses both electric penguins and cheeses the weakness with volt absorb, and magnet rise for others. Going the other way first gives you access to taunt so it can make the gym piss easy with a ground move.

all the way to the south we will have the route leading west of the main town, route 13.

Route 13 has the same frozen Bs you couldn't cross earlier. It's pokemon aren't as harsh as those found near route 8, roughly same level though experience wise.

We are looking for some pokemon at ease near or in water that aren't water types.

Moving on to the Ghost gym town. Town gets a lot of tourism from other regions, people come to buy headdresses and dream catchers and other similar knicknacks.

Gym leader is an ancient being, game will allude to them being really fecking old, and they'll look the part too.

Gym leader will battle you once you defeat her descendant on the next route, the young teenager is trying to get to the villain team but can't due to the harsh spirits.

You go to the route and find out her descendant is your rival you've bumped into a couple of times. Beating your rival they decide to go to the wastes to find themselves.

Going back to the gym she'll fight you. With her badge and the electric badge the spirits will find you worthy to go past the entrance to route 14.

Route 14 is the last long route, it's hard to traverse needing multiple Hm use to dig through, and repels don't work on this route either.

2 pokemon will have arena trap like abilities,

One is the Fight/Psychic goat which are absolute cunts.

figure out a secondary 2 stage line with a trapping ability of any type combo (Preferably not a fishmon)

as well as a new Ice type, something burly with dual that can protect some of it's Ice weaknesses.

The Ice-type is easy. Ground covers three of its weaknesses. Don't know what animal it would be.

Looking at annoying combos, we've actually already used almost all of them. So, let's just pull out the monotype that is most annoying to fight against: either Water, Steel, or Fairy.

Give them Arena Trap (Or Iron Barbs if we're going for Steel type) and stupidly high HP and watch the keyboards fly.
