Simple question, how long do the batteries in a gba cart last? I'm thinking of changing out some from old games to play instead of paying some person to do it.

i bought emerald a few months ago and the battery was dead, my red edition from back then on the other hand still works after 20 years

just change them, so you're on the save side. with basic soldering skills, it's easy as shit and those ghetto-methods work as well

The one that comes in the cart typically lasts about ten years; you can replace it with a CR2032 which should be good for more like 25-30
