>>38239741>>38239756>>38239762I dig that it's about catching monsters and exploring, but what always got me were the possibilities within the universe. I know it's catered to being age-appropriate, but think about if they decided on a less fluffy, more "real" approach. They wouldn't even need to go higher than rated T.
What underground trade rings are there?
Why would they be dangerous?
What are/were wars like?
Do Pokemon want to be caught by trainers and given a better life with the planet's "dominant" species, or do they fear humanity and see capturing as enslavement?
Why can Pokemon only learn four moves; is "four registered moves" a League regulation?
Where the hell is the police force?
What do professors actually do?
What societies do wild Pokemon have, and which have them in the first place? We've seen some in the show.
How is daily life? I don't mean jogging through routes and going gym to gym, I mean a normal life, trainer or otherwise.
Would Pokemon be allowed in various establishments, or would you have to "ball" them?
Why the fuck can some of them just talk? If Meowth can, yadda yadda, but how many others are there, if any at all?
Following the last, if you trust the anime, some of them clearly have the wherewithal to communicate with people. Which ones are smart; which ones are dumb? Do we eat the dumb ones there are no more than IRL animals? I've always wanted to make a chart.
Do kids really go off on their own at 10, or is it more like "you can drop out of school at 16 and join the League"?
Are starters given to everyone who joins the League? If so, how much does that cost? It being expensive explains why route challengers have doodoo teams.
The list could likely go on and on, right?
There are so many questions, and it's got all the potential in the world to make a story. It might not fit into the typical gameplay style we have today, but it's something.
