>>38246833It would be REALLY cool if it was designed as a set of challenges and you could just go right into it with your pokemon and try to get through the movie with a single pokemon however you can, maybe with extra dialogue/scenes for certain actions (IE status effects, using a certain pokemon/move, etc.).
However, as it is, it's just slow and grating and all around not very interesting. Nevermind the long, tedious process of being forced to have your hand held and being dragged around through every feature, they force you to initially go through every scenario with their pre-selected pokemon, which is generally made specifically to make it mindlessly easy and obvious what move you're supposed to pick at every single turn, then you have to watch the film you just played yourself, and THEN you have the option to play through with your actual pokemon, only for there to be no real reason to do so beyond personal entertainment, although you already went through the entire thing so there's nothing new to see.
tl;dr
The idea of fantasy scenarios where you have to fight things that aren't specifically Pokemon is really fucking cool, but Pokestar Studios wastes that potential and they literally never go back to it again.
