A good selection of Pokemon to use. Only gripe are the starters. Box 'em every time.
Move tutors helped some of the Pokemon that were otherwise lacking.
A decent-enough story, following up what is arguably Gamefreak's best attempt at story.
Animated sprites, both Trainers and Pokemon, were fun.
Some of the Gyms were really creative and memorable.
The E4/Champion rematches are great battles.
Challenge mode.
Only 5 HMs to use, and Cut is the only bad one. Dive isn't necessary.
Pokemon World Tournament.
Some of the locations and music are really nice.
The animated trailers were neat.

i guess that was why i enjoyed bw series so much. the majority of pokémon where ones that i've never seen in my life, and discovering a new one brings me to my childhood, where i got excited whenever i saw a new pokemon

I know this is blasphemy to say on this fucking website, but I prefer postgame like the PWT and White Treehollow/Black Tower to the Battle Frontier any day. I love being able to use my in game team for fun post game challenges.

The map is really good and there's so many comfy optional areas like Anville town, Abundant Shrine, Lostlorn Forest and Relic Passage. There's a lot of neat details like how the athletes that run back and forth runs when you run and walks when you walk, the music changes (most notably on Village Bridge), rustling grass and Hidden Grottoes. I think the SOUL meme is dumb but damn if they didn't put their heart and soul into making gen 5.
