>>38248772So, frustrated with the amount of threads that continue to exist in this fashion, and by the responses of multiple anons complaining about the tenuous nature of this theory, I decided to actually explore a bit into Cyndaquil's line. If you have to know why I've got an awful stomachache and am currently immobilized. Now, since in gen 2, but not including gen 3, Cyndaquil was referred to as the fire mouse Pokemon. Dex, cards, official data all called it thus. In gen 3, specifically, it was referred to as the fire echidna. Now, why only gen 3? Who fucking knows. That being said, echidnas, being egg laying mammals, might be considered similar in body type to porcupines, and also, due to being related to the platypus, with its beaver like body type, might be considered a rodent, or rodent like? It is not. It is not classified as such, it is not near in relation to rodents. It's not a rodent. Now one might make similar arguments for badgers (Typhlosion) to be considered rodent like? While they share similar features, one might as well say a cat is a rodent because it has whiskers, paws, and a tail. No one will do this, right? As much as I want to argue for Cyndaquil being a rodent, it is by no means a rodent. HOWEVER because the game calls it such, we're basically supposed to suck dick and accept that it is in fact a rodent. Why now? Basically because they're calling it a fucking rodent. Game Freak strikes again
