The observer in this sense is whatever is being used to measure the quantum event.
A cat can't see subatomic particles, so unlikely to have any effect on the scenario, but then again the interpretation doesn't explain how simply measuring something without interacting with it can alter it.

Of course. What "I love science" people don't understand is that the cat is not a metaphor, it's an intentionally ridiculous scenario to show the flaws of the Copenhagen interpretation.
Schrodinger's whole point is that a cat being both alive and dead is nonsense, yet those people went "WOW mindblown science is cool xd" and just accepted the whole theory Schrodinger was arguing against in the first place.

Would probably need some tweaking to avoid the infinite loop you'd get with two in the party, but still.

Remember having an idea for a similar ability, but for a Dry Bones and Dry Bowser like Pokemon, where they would revive after 10 turns at full health. It would only be one a shitmon and a Mega (since Pokemon revert back to their regular forms if they faint while being a mega, so it would only work once).
