Whatever the current generation we're on, fans will retroactively hate the game from two generations back, and praise the game that came before it. You see it now with everyone hating Unova and loving Sinnoh. Last generation, it was people hating Sinnoh and loving Hoenn. I still remember people hating Hoenn and praising Johto. When Sword and Shield comes out, expect the Kalos hate brigade to roll out.
