>>38258072>Totems are more fun and more challenging...*uses literally any status move that effects the opponent*
*wins*
>Z-Moves are better than MegasMarginally, but sure, I'll give you that one. In terms of the gameplay itself, the difference is marginal because if you're not a toddler you're gonna ignore both.
>SM had a plot that makes senseYou're not seriously using Sun and Moon's obnoxious anime plot that gets crammed down your throat every route and every city in the game as a pro, are you?
I'd rather have a loose, barely-there shitty plot than a "constantly screaming at the top of its lungs to remind you that it exists" shitty plot.
>no gridI'd argue that's a downgrade because it meant there weren't any overworld puzzles whatsoever. You can also argue Gen 6 didn't have a grid with the roller skates.
>no HMsOn one hand, yeah, that's a plus. On the other hand, there's not really any situation for you to use HMs that's anything more than a key to a door. There's literally just one area of meaning in all of Alola that's only accessible by surfing.
>Only two rivals instead of a fuckton with no personalityI would not count Hau as a rival. He fights you sometimes, but he's not a rival. Granted, Lillie isn't really a rival either, but she has an active role in the story. Hau is just sort of a side-character who shows up once in a while to remind you that he likes masaladas. And Lillie devours your role in the story and becomes the MC and rambles on and on and on. Again, if I had to pick, I'd prefer the "group of shitty nobodies who only talk to you once in a while when you reach a new city" to "clingy chatty waifu-bait who talks to your blank expressionless face constantly and the 'comedy' relief". Both are bad, but the latter is more present.
>Streamlined pokedex as to not have a fuckton for the sake of needing toAre you seriously saying that having less pokemon available to you is a plus? I guess you have the right to your opinion, but I strongly disagree.
