If you bought a game 20 years ago you would have few other things to do, you could focus on it. Now you can have 5 new games every week (that you won't even play, you'll just watch the trailers and maybe a let's play if it interests you enough), 20 new Youtube videos to watch every day, infinite scrolling social network homepages and so on. Masuda is right. There's no time for playing a video game in depth. And it's not only a problem with children, it's a problem with everyone. Everyone everywhere is always competing for attention every single moment.
